LessonNote – A free* iPad app to support Lesson Study and classroom observation

Lesson Study Alliance developed LessonNote to support effective Lesson Study. But the app is also widely used by curriculum coaches, school administrators, and supervisors of student teachers. LessonNote helps an observer collect detailed qualitative and quantitative data during a lesson.

LessonNote is free* on the iTunes store,

*LessonNote is free for 5 lessons per year, typical use by teachers involved in lesson study. (Lessons with fewer than 15 notes don’t count.) A low-priced subscription to Pro enables unlimited lessons and additional features.

The heart of LessonNote is a customizable seating chart populated with icons representing students, teachers, groups, and displays (such as a blackboard). Tapping on an icon, or dragging from one icon to another, opens a note-taking area at the bottom.

You can easily create and modify new seating charts as needed, and create templates for classrooms you visit frequently.
